Alicia Broto

Alicia is from Barcelona, Spain. She did her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology at the Institut de Biotecnologia i Biomedicina at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona in 2014. She is specialised on Mycoplasma biology and, specifically, on the Mycoplasma cell motility. Next, she did a short postdoctoral fellowship at CRG, working with Dr. Maria Lluch and Dr. Luis Serrano on new tools for the Mycoplasma genome engineering. Recently, she has started a position at Imperial college London in the lab headed by Dr. Mark Isalan on the MycoSynVac project. She is involved into a design of biosafety gene circuits and inducible systems for antigen expression on a mycoplasma chassis.
